  President Akufo-Addo says he will not relent in his decision to complete the building of the National Cathedral to honour his promise to God. His comments come in the wake of calls for him to put on hold the building of the controversial project and to focus on resolving the current economic challenges of the country. According to the President, those who do not share his views to complete the project are like the Biblical Sanballat and Tobias in the days of Nehemiah. “Just like Sanballat and Tobias, in the days of Nehemiah, there are some who do not share my views on the building of the National Cathedral, I respect their right to differ but I am confident (of) my decision, by the vast numbers of enthusiastic supporters of this project whose spiritual dimension is limitless”.   The General Council of the Assemblies of God, led by its General Superintendent, Rev. Dr. Stephen Wengam, has called for collaboration between the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) and the government for national development. The Council proposed the collaboration when it paid a courtesy call on the GJA at its headquarters, the International Press Centre in Accra, on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. The meeting was to re-introduce themselves to the GJA, Make Association aware of the history and activities of the Church and as well call for a collaboration between the two institutions towards national development. Rev. Dr. Stephen Wengam commended the GJA for its work towards national development, especially the fight for the interest of journalists in the country and contribution to press freedom. Ghanaian comedienne, Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, widely known as Afia Schwarzenegger, has apologized to the court over Chairman Wontumi’s case. Afia Schwarzenegger, Nana Ama McBrown, Kwame A Plus and Mr Logic were penalized by the Tema High Court a few weeks ago following a sitting. While the other defendants were fined, Afia was reportedly given a 10-day sentence. In a statement sighted by Zionfelix.net, the popular comedienne apologized for discussing the issue on UTV. She stated that her conduct and comments should have been measured by caution and restraint. The vocal socialite said she will henceforth conduct her affairs in a manner that will not cause public dissatisfaction nor seek to undermine the courts of the land.
